Go to ebay and type tablet PC, you will get hundreds with slightly more cost but the same functionality.

The fact is that Datawind has not even commenced production of UbiSlate 7+ at its captive plant in Hyderabad. The skunk, Mr. Gill, has been collecting upfront Rs2999 from one all all for a priority delivery that may never happen in the near future. All the money collected upfront is to finance his working capital for supplies to be made first to the GoI that run into lakhs of units as per tenders by the GoI in April. At its captive plant in Hyderabad this skunk at best has a production capacity of only 700 units/day. The skunk has advertised of having another two captive plants in India, but nothing to date has come of the same. At the website http://www.ubislate.com, this skunk has removed “Check Status Online” which for months was stated as “Coming Soon”. You can book a million times with your name at his online booking and you will get a million IDs. All is automated. This skunk is just cheating the public at large. If you have made payment upfront then just make a complaint online with cyber police providing full details of ID# and payment details.

I have also booked Ubislate 7 in December, but still waiting. I think its a kind of our “Ahimsa, our power to tolerate anything” they are testing. If they don’t have stuff, just tell the customers, they don’t. Just go for the good one with different Brand and advanced features. Forget to Datawind. I simply follow those, who keeps their word.

Dear “POOR GUYS”… I am SORRY but the fact is that many of you are cheated. If at all they can deliver you Ubi+7 in the future, the tab will be outdated. Now many tabs are already in the market (especially in the European market) with the same specifications with 60 to 70 Euros. We Indians make good promises. We cheat our own people. The Hyderabad plant has a capacity of producing just 700 units per day. How Mr. Gill provide Tabs for more than ten thousand priority delivery orders which he receives daily. I feel pity… in the name of priority delivery he is cheating poor Indians… Don’t be bluffed!!!!

Biju is right. UbiSlate 7+ is already obsolete as Gilli Billi has launched UbiSlate 7C with capacitive touch screen and 4 GB internal memory for 4k. Soon even version 7C will be obsolete as this skunk will launch another with non reflective screen for 5k and so on. The keyboard accessory is for Rs500. All the time in-between models Gilli Billi is collecting monies for priority deliveries that have yet to begin.

i purchased in hyderabad…cost is 2600 only…shop located in abids…he said nogarantee even after half en hour you bringback it for any malfunction…
and main thing is, there is no option of sim so only wifi…
even if i tryed in my office wifi there was continues scanning and no internet connection…
shopper not even giving purchase bill…
there is a poor sound from this ubislate7 with shopper given a crap earphone set…
overall it is a creepy, freakly tablet pc indeed…

What Mr. BIJU says seems very true. Now there are many tablets (with the same or more advanced features) in the indian market and that too readily available. Anybody can see and buy them, if satisfied. No use of waiting for Ubislate. I had booked it in December 2011 but still no reply. I have decided not to buy it even if it is offered to me.

I have received Ubislate 7+ and it is still with Andriod 2.2 and not 2.3. On contacting their customer care, they have told “By Mistake” the first lot is having Andriod 2.2 and will be updated to 2.3 in a months time. Othwerise its amaxing with this price tag…. Happyy Tabbingggg….
this company should have a space in guiness book of world records for MAKING FALSE COMMITMENT. after every fifteen days there is an email stating you will get the delivery in 10-15 days . And its been almost 90 days oo more i am getting this reply. They have realised the cheque amount in february. Its a false compnay i suppose a failure in invention.

Please dont buy Ubislate. It is not working at all. the customer care doesnt respond and the tablet is not working properly. the features provided by datawind are not available.
it doesnt support sim card, has no camera, video quality very very low, the tablet doesnt respond immediately after tabing and so many problems in it. My advice is not to buy the tablet.

They are now refunding money back, I got my money back(lucky me!).
Though had to make numerous calls and many many emails, but finally they gave my money back.
During my conversations to them it was very clear they have no estimations on when they will be able to start delivering.
For those who are planing to buy this now, please consider other alternative tables.
Please save your Rs.2999. dont order any tablet from datawind, they are not delivering any tablet to any one.

Those who booked the tab six months ago never received any mail from datawind for delay in project or status of dispatch unless they asked for it.
It was moral responsibility of the company to provide latest status with a sorry later to each & every customer without waiting for their emails or call.
Contrary to this they never bothered to reply emails on time or receive the phone calls. Many times they used to receive phone & prefer not to reply (you may hear background noise/?gossips).
This was the response when problems were only nontechnical(delivery status).
Going through the different web forums we come across multiple complains by users of UBISLAT7+. It appears almost all may feel necessity to contact ‘after sale service’ within couple of months or so.
Will they be able to handle such a high volumes of technical help queries efficiently? If not, then the tab will be junk,…only a reminder of our bad decision to waist our money and time behind it.
HOPE MY APPREHENSION PROVE TO BE WRONG BY DATAWIND!!

Don’t buy UBISLATE 7
1. After switch ON, there is no way to switch it OFF. It shuts down only after battery drains of.
2. Settings for vibration are given, but the slate never vibrates.
3. Speaker is there but even after playing a song, no sound is heard.
4. Airplane mode is always ON.
5. No games are installed.
6. When trying to switch ON Bluetooth, the message shown is “In Airplane Mode”. Bluetooth does not switch ON.
7. In Notepad mode, keyboard is not available.
8. Screen does not rotate.
i bought ubislate7 at june 10 believe it was not working in good condition and now i dont know where the service centre is so i’m begging everyone not to buy the item and i booked for ubislate7+ but i received ubislate7
I got the piece this week Ubislate7+ Its an average product to extent of money charged. There is no video player and no blue tooth available. It gets off (close) very often. One has to be an expert to move the cursor (hand) to the specific point while browsing, particularly to select from drop down lists. The internet pages are taking more time to open(will kill your patience). Sometimes the internet pages are coming blurred. They have not sent any detailed manual. As an accessory, they have sent only the charger and nothing else. Can anybody suggest as to how to download the video & bluetooth apps,

I just got my pre-booked Ubislate7+ delivered to me.
I feel difficulties and am unable to register and configure my Ubislate7+ for net surfing using ubisurfer using embedded SIM. I also talked with Aircell helpline and they could not be able to support me.
I also tried to use external SIM card of another network e.g. Airtel & BSNL, but failed to connect the internet, however, i could be able to us Ubislate 7+ as telephone device.
I must be grateful if you let me know the complete modality of registering and configuring the Ubislate 7+ through embedded SIM as well as through external SIM for purpose of net browsing.

Y’day i got UBI slate,i booked on feb last week. not bad, but features are not good like,
touch is hard, there is not mic, no camera,lift the phone and cut the phone bit hard. home button less quality, battery backup very low. features and options are not userfriendly. image does not rotating, many features are not working properly.

I brought Ubislate7 table with great enthusiasm but my mind got murdered by this mental device.
It really made me crazy with its mental behaviour,some of the mental behaviours of this device are:
1)Its not getting switch on first of all(Ur finger will definitely need treatement after that)
2)Its not getting switch off once switch on,ohh buddy its really i tell u its complete torchure to get it sleep,thought of make it sleep for forever putting it in water(Its not joke)
3)Airoplace mode will not leave you although you are in autorikshaw,god sake i literally throne it on the floor in frustration.
4)No customer care support
5)No support to simcard
6)Still counting will update you if i get any more it was just first day abhi to din baki hai dost before i break it.
